cover design for Bala Takes The Plunge

I made this back in April. The book's out later this month and I must tell you Melvin Durai is funny as hell. His columns are a riot. You've got to check them out. Now, back to the cover. The one above has gone to press. And these are the other designs that didn't make it. But I'm honestly happy I made them too.

I was at the arcade games section of a mall staring at a claw machine for twenty minutes straight because the security guard won't let me take notes. I have a problem with this. Since when has taking notes in public become a security threat?

The title sounded a little heroic. Like the protagonist finally does it in spite of all the odds. So, this one was inevitable.

Bala's bridal dilemma - American or South Indian?

I'll remember working on these covers for a long time to come because this was my first assignment after I quit my job. And I can't thank Shivmeet Deol (the editor) enough for commissioning me. For having trusted me to pull it off.
